Trials of swiping the cell phone arrived in 2003 in Japan, which worked just like a credit card. Only, it was the phone which was used, and not a credit card!

Mobile phone swiping

The technique of swiping the mobile phone was mainly seen by us in science-fiction shows on the television, where a machine took care of unthinkable functions, and this machine resembled a cell phone. Of late, it now seems a distant reality that with the introduction of smart cards, the machines will be launched which would detect them, and result in performing similar functions to that of a credit card. In fact, if things work out fine, then credit cards would actually become an outdated technology!

No matter whatever function was taken care of by the credit card, the future will hold great news for similar functions being performed by the swipe of your mobile phone instead of the credit card. This would count for a great advantage as the electronic receipt would ensure that the shop guys are just a call away if any problem arises.
Also, this technology will be still better as the scanning of items can be immediately done while you continue to shop, which would avoid your need to calculate the spending repeatedly to ensure you don’t go beyond the budget.

Given the advancement of science though, such a thing doesn’t come as a surprise. Besides having the ability to communicate with people, the swiping of mobile phones will permit us to play online games, see the television, download latest music and an array of other things we didn’t even imagine!
